A ray of light: A facile and controllable strategy for growing vertically aligned TiO2 nanowire arrays on carbon fibers is presented. Efficient, inexpensive, and flexible wire solar cells based on a hierarchical TiO2 nanowire carbon fiber photoanode achieve an impressive conversion efficiency. This study could offer a new encouraging way toward low-cost, lightweight, and high-performance flexible/wearable solar cells.
