TiO2-Ag nanocomposite coatings were deposited by a one step DLI-MOCVD process on various substrates. The silver nanoparticles are uniformly embedded in the oxide matrix through the layer thickness. The films are bactericidal in dark for Ag content lower than 1 at.-%. A photocatalytic activity was found under UV light but it decreases by increasing the Ag content. This dual functionality is promising for long term anti-bacterial surfaces.
