Population structure analyses revealed little genetic differentiation among four species from the Pterostylis longifolia complex in Tasmania, Australia. Furthermore, the results suggest that longifolia species may have persisted in refugia through the last glacial maximum and are now in the process of range expansion. These results encourage further, detailed analyses into species from the longifolia complex to determine if members are best treated as multiple rare species or a single widespread taxon.
