Copper-based cellulose nanocomposites have been synthesized and characterized. The oxidation of cellulose/Cu nanocomposites was studied by varying the cellulose matrix and the Cu morphology. When a bacterial cellulose matrix is combined with Cu wires the nanocomposites are stable for longer periods of time, which makes their use more attractive for emerging technologies based on electronic paper.
