The extent of tilting of YO8/EuO8 polyhedra in Y2Sn2O7 nanoparticles decreases with increasing annealing temperature and this is reflected in the values of the luminescence parameters Ω2 and Ω4, which are related to the extent of polarization in Y–O and Eu–O bonds in the Y2Sn2O7:Eu lattice.
