New areneruthenium complexes with the ligand 2-methoxyphenyl-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methane have been synthesized. The steric hindrance from the presence of the methoxy and methyl groups allows the formation of an unprecedented isomer, the detection of restricted rotation of some rings and the improvement of the catalytic behaviour in hydrogen transfer of ketones in the absence of base.
