Efficient one-pot multicomponent synthesis of Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs thioselenophosphinates from secondary phosphanes, sulfur, selenium, and metal hydroxides has been developed. The molecular and electronic structure of the alkali metal thioselenophosphinates has been investigated by DFT (B3LYP) calculations. Their reactivity as well as synthetic usefulness has also been demonstrated.
