Two new one-dimensional nitronyl nitroxide radical–LnIII (Ln = Gd, Tb) chain complexes have been synthesized by using iodo-substituted nitronyl nitroxide radicals. The Tb complex exhibits the coexistence of metamagnetism, spin dynamic relaxation, and antiferromagnetic ordering.
