Three trinuclear MnIII Schiff base complexes with tetrathiocyanidoplatinum(II) bridges were prepared. Coordinated solvent ligands form intermolecular H-bonds, which results in 1D chain structures. Antiferromagnetic exchange interactions within the chains mediated by the H-bonds were found to be stronger for compounds with water ligands than for those with methanol ligands.
