The utilization of solvent additives made it possible to modify the crystal quality, structure, morphology, and composition of cation radical salts based on the π donor diiodo(ethylenedithio)tetraselenafulvalene and indium tetrahalide anions. The addition of a few drops of water as the solvent additive induced the in situ formation of the [InCl4(H2O)2] anion.
