A new total variation diminishing method that extends the flux limiters derived on one-dimensional grids to two-dimensional unstructured triangular grids is proposed, by means of defining the required nodes along the line through the midpoint of the considered face and perpendicular to it. Moreover, the values at these nodes are approximated as those of the nearest cells. The new method is more accurate and efficient than the existing flux limiting methods for two-dimensional unstructured grids.
