Two new stabilization schemes are presented for quasi-static liquid films. These schemes only affect the in-plane membrane behavior while keeping the out-of-plane behavior unmodified. Computational contact algorithms are proposed for the surface and line contacts of the liquid films. The new formulation is illustrated by a large range of examples considering various finite element discretizations.
