The combined application of Raman microscopy and BTEM algorithm can address a wide range of material characterization problems. In present minireview, this application is shown to successfully analyze multicomponent organic, inorganic, pharmaceutical, and bio-related materials. The reconstructed spectral estimates have outstanding signal-to-noise ratios. Trace components can be detected and identities of underlying constituents can be determined.
