V. G. Arakcheev and V. B. Morozov Vibrational spectra of carbon dioxide adsorbed on nanopore walls at supermonolayer and submonolayer coverage Journal of Raman Spectroscopy 45
Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering spectroscopy is applied to probe the microstructure of CO2 adsorbed in nanoporous glass Vycor with a mean pore radius of 2 nm. As pressure is decreased, the spectrum transformations indicate the fluid transition from the liquid-like to the gas-like state and the further thinning of the surface adsorbed layers. The results provide clear evidence that as the surface coverage is decreased, the vibrational frequency shifts down.
