VPP PEDOT is enhanced with the addition of PEG-ran-PPG into the oxidant solution. QCM data indicate that the polymerisation rate undergoes three rate changes. The inclusion of the co-polymer reduces the reactivity of the oxidant, extending the slowest polymerisation rate which increases conductivity. The optimum loading was 4wt.-, however, XPS data indicates that the co-polymer remains in the PEDOT post-washing and this explains the fall in conductivity at higher loadings.
