A new approach is developed to fabricate highly oriented mono-domain nano/microstructures of liquid crystalline elastomer through micro-molding in capillaries. By filling the channels with a nematic monomer mixture and photo-crosslinking, gratings with precisely controlled sizes are fabricated. Microwires are obtained by peeling off the structure from the substrate and reversible thermomechanical deformation is observed for the microwires.
