Version of Record online: 15 MAY 2014 | DOI: 10.1002/pd.4393

What's already known about this topic?

  • The Quintero's classification for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) does not integrate cardiovascular parameters. Studies evaluating the prognostic value of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) score and the MPI in TTTS, especially in lower stages, are scarce.

What does this study add?

  • The CHOP score and MPI are strongly correlated with recipient survival and can predict fetal loss. They may be used in order to improve evaluation of stages 1 and 2 of TTTS.
