A novel approach to the preparation of multifunctional amphiphilic silicone architectures is reported. The synthetic strategy relies on successive, thermal (metal free) cycloadditions of azides to activated alkynes (Click chemistry), which provides access to novel polymeric silicone surfactants in high yield and without generating any byproducts.
