Synthesis of block copolystyrenes derivatives, containing a hydrophobic main chain and flexible pendent aliphatic sulfonic acid groups with varying ion exchange capacities (IECs) from 1.39 to 2.89 mequiv g−1 and the membrane properties, such as proton conductivity, water uptake, morphology and oxidative stability have been investigated.
