An accurate prediction of the mechanical behavior of semicrystalline polymers requires a good description of all various deformation mechanisms in the heterogeneous microstructure. A micromechanical constitutive model used to capture the yield kinetics and texture evolution in such materials is modified here to improve its predictive abilities, in particular for the stress-dependence of the rate of plastic deformation, often known as slip kinetics.
