The physical meaning of the Rosin-Rammler (R-R) location parameter depends on the value of its spread parameter, making it physically uninterpretable and less suitable in physical models. The R-R distribution can still be used for production control, but a mean particle diameter (Moment-Ratio system) instead of the location parameter is recommended. R-R distributions with spread parameter values ≤3 cannot exist. Painter: Christoph Wetzel, Photo: TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany (photo edited by Annelies ter Laare).
