A one-pot methodology to covalently functionalize the basal plane of graphene oxide (GO) with varying abundance of tertiary alkyl fluoride enables tailoring its wetting characteristics from innately superhydrophilic to superamphiphobic. Outstanding solution processability permits the fabrication of "inks" that are sprayed on several porous/non-porous substrates to impart amphiphobicity.
