A family of magnetic nanocomposites formed by FeNi3 ferromagnetic nanoparticles (NPs) embedded in a graphitized carbon matrix is reported. The coexistence of metal NPs and nanostructured carbon leads to a remarkable increase of their specific capacitance under high discharging current densities in comparison with the layered double hydroxide-based mixed oxide-carbon composite materials reported to date.
