A method for improving the performance of dyesensitized solar cells is discussed by Dong Ha Kim and co-workers on page 1030. This facile protocol uses TiO2 nanoparticles, which are derived from the calcination of a low-cost, ecofriendly, and readily available carbohydrate species, decorated with thin carbon coatings.
