Water plays an important role in the solvation of ions and various biochemical processes. In this work, an interesting modulation of cooperativity in hydrogen-bonded clusters by different ions is illustrated. Dicationic ions exert a greater impact on these hydrogen-bonded clusters compared to their monovalent counterparts. In all cases, the effect of ions on cooperativity becomes attenuated as one moves away from it and eventually reaches the level of the parent cluster.
