DNA molecules that are responsive to pH change are used to engineer the pH-dependent catalytic behavior of GOx-mimicking AuNPs. The pH-catalytic activity profiles show dependence on the sequence of the nucleic molecules, because of the unique pH-directed conformational changes of the respective nucleic strands. Moreover, the catalysis can be programmed into an AND gate, a XNOR gate or a NOT gate.
