This study in a mouse cardiac allograft model demonstrates that administration of antithymocyte globulin one week prior to transplantation is more efficient in targeting preexisting donor-reactive memory T cells, inhibiting antidonor T cell responses, and prolonging heart allograft survival than the commonly used treatment at the time of transplantation.
