  •  There is uncertainty regarding the effectiveness of many of the commonly used treatments for eczema.
  •  Eczema research to date has largely been driven by the priorities of the pharmaceutical industry and academia.

What does this study add?

  •  By means of an explicit process, we identified the top 14 uncertainties in eczema treatment that are important to patients who have the disease, their carers and the healthcare professionals who treat them.
  •  These prioritized treatment uncertainties can be used to guide researchers and funding bodies in their decisions regarding future investment of time and resources in eczema research.
