What this study adds

  • Temporal or frontal PVHI is related to typical motor outcome.
  • It is associated with an increased risk of cognitive, behavioural, and visual problems.
  • Preterm infants with a temporal PVHI are more at risk of adverse outcome than those with a frontal PVHI.
