We applied double-pulse TMS over the parietal opercula to investigate the role of this region in coding the imitative compatibility, based on the anatomical matching between model and performer in automatic imitation. We found that a temporary disruption of parietal opercula caused the reduction of the imitative compatibility relative to the sham condition. However, the TMS interference did not modulate the spatial compatibility, suggesting that these two processes are likely to be independent.
