The system underlying the vMMN is sensitive to symmetry as perceptual category, as per that is capable of coding the regular presentation of symmetric patterns (standards) accordingly the appearances of the rare random pattern (deviant) elicit the vMMN component. ERP difference was found in two latency ranges (112-120 and 284-292 ms) at the occipital locations, we consider two negativities as valid error signals, that are organised in cascade mode.
