Current study used repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to investigate role of dorsal premotor cortex (PMd) in early offline consolidation. 1 Hz, 5 Hz or sham repetitive TMS was applied post-practice for 4 days. Only 1 Hz group rTMS demonstrated sequence specific learning at delayed retention that could be attributed to greater sequence specific consolidation. 1 Hz repetitive TMS over PMd during early offline consolidation may enhance retention of skills following practice.
