Nogo-A KO mice show enhanced regenerative growth in vivo, even though less pronounced than after acute neutralization of Nogo-A. We show that developmental axon guidance cues are upregulated in the intact adult CNS following constitutive Nogo-A deletion, e.g. the EphrinA3/EphA4 ligand/receptor pair, and may account for residual growth inhibition after injury.
