In this retrospective study of patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia treated with vancomycin or teicoplanin, the development of acute kidney injury (AKI) was assessed with the RIFLE criteria. Vancomycin treated patients developed AKI more frequently and sooner than those on teicoplanin.
