The BEWE programme was designed with the aim of improving the capacity of rural/remote health-care practitioners to deliver pulmonary rehabilitation. This study demonstrated that the BEWE programme increased health-care practitioner confidence and knowledge and facilitated the establishment of effective pulmonary rehabilitation programmes in rural and remote settings.
