The sort of response of resveratrol could be attributed to several properties that interfere with a chain of signaling pathways that prevent neuronal death after global cerebral ischemia. The current study suggests a causal link between resveratrol-induced PI3-K/Akt responses and neuroprotection in cerebral ischemia. The activation of these complex and interrelated pathways may rescue neuronal cells.
