Analysis of pediatric intestinal transplants using the United Network for Organ Sharing database from 1987 to 2009 in four different age groups shows better 5-year patient survival for isolated intestinal transplants over liver–intestinal transplants for children over 2 years, which is largely attributable to early attrition of patients having liver–intestinal grafts.
