Little is known about differences in functional signatures or functional diversity between the seed bank and the vegetation. Plants in the vegetation were taller, longer-lived and had more conservative leaf traits, whereas plants in the seed bank had higher seed longevity and were more frequently insect or self-pollinated. Functional diversity patterns showed conflicting evidence on habitat filtering depending on the metric chosen.
