Snake phospholipase A2 neurotoxins (SPANs) are potent inducers of paralysis through specific disruption of the presynaptic membrane. Up to date, no structural study has been done on multimeric SPANs in physiological conditions. In this study we were able to crystallize two isoforms of the inactive taipoxin beta subunit and we are also proposing a model for taipoxin quaternary structure
