We disentangled direct climate effect and size-dependent indirect climate effect on flowering performance as well as climatically induced change in minimum size for flowering and in reproductive investment. Climate affected flowering both directly and through size-dependence. Understanding such size-dependent responses to climate is important for our understanding of how climate change will affect flowering performance and recruitment in plant populations.
