The majority of grasslands are grazed, yet few studies examine how climate change will interact with disturbance. We show that biomass and community composition in grazed (via selective clipping) or ungrazed North American tallgrass prairie may be relatively resilient under more variable precipitation regimes while a single year of grazing drastically reduces grass biomass and alters composition for multiple years.
