Eutrophication due to N deposition and humus accumulation lead to vegetation change in nutrient deficient pine forests in the Lower Spreewald between 1965 and 2010. Species composition shifted towards higher N and slightly lower light availability. Despite an overall increase in species numbers, the loss of characteristic species of the most oligotrophic sites lead to a loss of beta diversity.
