Jennifer Reinecke, Gunther Klemm and Thilo Heinken Vegetation change and homogenization of species composition in temperate nutrient deficient Scots pine forests after 45 yr Journal of Vegetation Science 25
Eutrophication due to N deposition and humus accumulation lead to vegetation change in nutrient deficient pine forests in the Lower Spreewald between 1965 and 2010. Species composition shifted towards higher N and slightly lower light availability. Despite an overall increase in species numbers, the loss of characteristic species of the most oligotrophic sites lead to a loss of beta diversity.
