Variation partitioning in combination with multi-scale spatial predictors are used to investigate the importance and spatial scale at which climate and land-use drivers explain community composition of an important national resource. We show how multi-scale analyses applied in this way can be useful for determining community assembly processes and identifying the scale-specific importance of environmental processes responsible for driving β-diversity.
