The Tyndall Glacier on Mt. Kenya is diminishing rapidly and may soon disappear completely. The temperature at Mt. Kenya increased by >2 °C from 1963 to 2011. Our study from 1992 to 2011 investigates vegetation succession where the first pioneer species, Senecio keniophytum, are advancing in close spatial correlation with rapid glacial recession.
