Madeline J. Simpson, Horacio Poblete, May Griffith, Emilio I. Alarcon and Juan C. Scaiano Impact of Dye-Protein Interaction and Silver Nanoparticles on Rose Bengal Photophysical Behavior and Protein Photocrosslinking Photochemistry and Photobiology 89
“Rose Bengal binds up to 10 molecules per Type-I collagen molecule in aqueous solutions. Upon binding of rose Bengal the photophysical and photochemical properties of the dye are strongly affected. The presence of silver nanoparticles in the near vicinity of the protein further modifies the photophysical properties of the dye”.
