Health Behavior

Unhealthy behavior is responsible for much chronic disease and can shorten lifespan by as much as a decade. Healthy behavior not only avoids these consequences but enhances quality of life. Nurses and other health scientists have made important contribution to our understanding of factors associated with healthy and unhealthy behaviors and with health professionals' readiness to help individuals to adopt health behaviors and reduce unhealthy ones. This 3-part Virtual Issues series will highlight recent RINAH publications on 3 clusters of behaviors with significant health impact:

Health Behavior: Smoking

Health Behavior: Diet, Physical Activity, and Exercise

Health Behavior: Sexual Risk Reduction
