Special Issue: From Germ Cell to Implantation – The Epigenetic Story

Molecular Reproduction & Technique

When the sperm and egg come together at fertilization, the genomes of each cell must be restructured to support embryonic development. This Special Issue, 'Epigenetics: From Germ Cell to Implantation - The Epigenetic Story', will position us to better understand the dynamic changes in the chromatin states of gametogenesis, after fertilization, and during the development of the resulting embryo, and provides insight to the special ways in which stem cells utilize epigenetic mechanisms to retain their characteristic potency.

Mechanotransduction in the Reproductive Tract
October 14 - 15, 2014
Durham, NC, 27710

Mechanical transduction is chemical signaling in cells and tissues induced by mechanical forces, such as stretch or compression. This phenomenon plays a large role in reproductive physiology. Topics to be covered include: mechanisms of mechanical signaling, the cellular processes that translate mechanical stimulation of biochemical signals, cell adaption to changing environment, and more…
