2013_34/2013Extending the Family of N-Heterocyclic Heavy Carbene Analogues: Synthesis and Crystal and Molecular Structures of MeN[CH2C(O)N(R)]2Sn (R = Me2NCH2CH2, PhCH2, Me3CCH2) (Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. 34/2013)

The cover picture shows cyclic diazastannylenes reported by Hahn et al., Russel et al., Zaitsev et al., and Jurkschat et al., which have intramolecular donor[RIGHTWARDS ARROW]Sn coordination in common. This coordination enhances the stability of the SnII compounds to the extent that the compound synthesized at TU Dortmund, shown in the forefront and reported in this issue, is even stable in air. Details are discussed in the article by K. Jurkschat et al. on p. 5836 ff. For more on the story behind the cover research, see the Cover Profile.
