RNA Interference Earns Fire, Mello Nobel PrizeThe Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden) has today decided to award the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for 2006 jointly to Andrew Z. Fire (Stanford University, USA) and Craig C. Mello (University of Massachusetts, Worcester, USA) for their discovery of "RNA interference—gene silencing by double-stranded RNA".
